EMPHASIS: New Safe Driving Video for Teen Drivers

The Missouri State Highway Patrol is pleased to announce the completion of a new safe driving video for teen drivers. The video is titled “It’s My Life”. The video is very similar to the “Stop the Knock” video that was introduced four years ago.

The video contains crash footage and interviews with those whose lives have been forever changed by traffic crashes. The video will serve as an educational tool about what happens when people speed, drive inattentively, drink and drive, and fail to wear seat belts. Traffic crashes kill more people from age five to thirty-four than any other form of death. Inattention, speeding, and alcohol related traffic crashes continue to be the leading causes of traffic crashes in Missouri. Many of those killed are unrestrained at the time of the crash. The video is a collaborative effort between the Missouri State Highway Patrol, State Farm Insurance, the Hannibal Loafers Car Club, the University of Missouri Hospital, Heartland Regional Medical Center, and the Chaffee R-II School District.

Anyone interested in scheduling a safety program containing the “It’s My Life” video may contact Troop C Public Information Officers, Corporal Al Nothum or Trooper Julie Scerine, at Troop C Headquarters, 599 S. Mason Road, St. Louis, Missouri, telephone 314/340-4062 or 314/340-4028.
