Troop C Sergeant Scott Miller Promoted To Lieutenant
Captain Stephen B. Ferrier announces the following promotion effective November 1, 2020:
Sergeant Scott A. Miller was promoted to the rank of lieutenant and transferred from Troop C, Zone 5, Lincoln and Pike counties, to Troop C Headquarters, Weldon Spring, where he will serve as a member of the Troop C command staff.
Miller was appointed to the Patrol on July 1, 1996, as a member of the 72nd Recruit Class. After graduating from the Patrol's Law Enforcement Academy, he was assigned to Troop B, Zone 9, serving Marion and Ralls counties. On August 1, 2001, he transferred the Gaming Division, General Headquarters, and was stationed at the Ameristar Casino in St. Charles. In June 2003, Miller transferred from the Gaming Division to Troop C, Zone 5, serving Lincoln and Pike counties. On December 1, 2008, he was promoted to corporal and designated assistant zone supervisor in Zone 5. On January 1, 2018, he was promoted to sergeant and designated zone supervisor in that same zone.
Lieutenant Miller was born in Wellsville, Missouri. He graduated from Wellsville High School in 1989. He attended Central Missouri State University where he earned an Bachelor of Science in criminal justice administration in 1995. In 2016, Lieutenant Miller completed Leadership in Police Organization training at the Missouri State Highway Patrol Training Academy.
