EMPHASIS: Troop E Officers to Conduct Selective Traffic Enforcement Program Operation In February

Captain Jeffrey N. Vitale, commanding officer of Troop E, Poplar Bluff, announces that members of Troop E will be conducting a Selective Traffic Enforcement Program operation on February 24, 2017. The enforcement operation will be held on all roadways within Troop E. The goal of this operation is to detect hazardous moving, speed, and other violations that contribute to traffic crashes. Troopers will also be aggressively enforcing the seat belt and child restraint laws.

"Enforcement programs such as these will be ongoing in the Troop E area this year in an effort to reduce traffic crashes," states Captain Vitale. "We would like to urge motorists to pay attention to their driving habits and always wear their seat belts," the captain added.

The only 100 percent survivable crash is the one that never happens. Make sure everyone in the vehicle is properly restrained in a seat belt or child restraint. Every day as we travel on Missouri’s roadways, we trust that every driver on the road is going to obey the speed limit, pay attention, and drive sober. “Don’t Violate The Trust.”
