Troop G Releases Memorial Day Enforcement Totals
Captain Mark G. Inman, commanding officer, Troop G, Willow Springs, announces the following traffic totals for the Memorial Day holiday period. Troop G troopers participated in Operation C.A.R.E. (Crash Awareness & Reduction Effort) from
Friday, May 25, 2018, through Monday, May 28, 2018, meaning every available trooper was on the road enforcing traffic laws and assisting motorists.
Troop G reported no fatal traffic crashes, and investigated 28 traffic crashes resulting in five injuries. Also, troopers made arrests for nine DWIs and 19 drug violations.
Troop G troopers working on U.S. Highway 60 also participated in a special enforcement operation. Troopers assigned to this operation worked 12-hour shifts to patrol 20-mile intervals on major highways and interstates in Missouri on Friday, May 25, 2018, and Monday, May 28, 2018. Troop G totals from this operation include:
126-- speed citations
29-- seat belt citations
1-- child restraint citation
3-- Failed to yield citations
18-- non-moving citations
2-- no driver’s license citations
5-- uninsured motorist citations
2-- misdemeanor drug arrests
1-- misdemeanor warrant arrest
153-- warnings
“We are fortunate no one lost their life on the roadways in Troop G this Memorial Day weekend,” said Capt. Inman. “Our troopers work very hard to keep the motoring public safe. Please do your part by resolving to be a safe driver.”
The only 100 percent survivable crash is the one that never happens. Make sure everyone in the vehicle is properly restrained in a seat belt or child restraint. Every day as we travel on Missouri’s roadways, we trust that every driver on the road is going to obey the speed limit, pay attention, and drive sober.
“Don’t Violate The Trust.”
