EMPHASIS: Sgt. Timothy R. Tinnin Retires After 32 Years Of Dedicated Service

Captain Dusty L. Hoffman, director of the Missouri State Highway Patrol's Governor's Security Division, announces the following retirement effective September 1, 2018:

Sergeant Timothy R. Tinnin, Q/GSD, will retire after 32 years of dedicated service to the citizens of Missouri.

Tinnin was appointed to the Missouri State Highway Patrol on August 1, 1986, as a member of the 58th Recruit Class. After graduating from the Patrol's Law Enforcement Academy, he was assigned to Troop F, Zone 8, Callaway County, as a road officer. He was promoted to the rank of corporal on September 1, 1993, and designated assistant zone supervisor of Troop F, Zone 1, Cole County. On September 1, 1998, he was promoted to sergeant and designated zone supervisor of Troop F, Zone 2, Cole County and Southern Callaway County. On January 26, 2014, Tinnin transferred to the Governor’s Security Division, General Headquarters, Jefferson City, MO.

Sgt. Tinnin grew up in Rolla, MO. He graduated from Jefferson City High School in 1978. He earned a Bachelor of Science in criminal justice administration from Central Missouri State University in Warrensburg, MO, in 1982. Sgt. Tinnin has two children and three grandchildren.
