EMPHASIS: New Troopers Assigned To Troop B


Captain James E. Wilt, commanding officer of Troop B, Macon, is pleased to announce the assignment of four new troopers that have been assigned to Troop B effective July 23, 2010. The new troopers are members of the 91st Missouri State Highway Patrol Recruit Class that graduated from the Patrol Academy on July 23, 2010, and will fill existing vacancies within Troop B.
Trooper Kelly M. Hoover, a native of Holden, Missouri, has been assigned to Zone 7, which serves the citizens of Lewis and Knox counties. Trooper Hoover graduated from Holden High School in Holden, Missouri, and holds a bachelor's of science degree in political science from Missouri State University in Springfield, Missouri. Prior to her appointment to the Patrol, she was employed as a bank teller in Blue Springs, Missouri.
Trooper Barbara M. Littrell, a native of Royal Oak, Michigan, has been assigned to Zone 4, which serves the citizens of Putnam and Sullivan counties. Trooper Littrell graduated from Kimball High School in Royal Oak, Michigan, and holds a bachelor's of science degree in criminal justice from Madonna University in Livonia, Michigan. Prior to her appointment to the Patrol, she was employed as a surveillance technician in Detroit, Michigan. Trooper Littrell and her husband, Eric, have five children: Bonai, Eric Jr., Brooke, Ramsey, and Ivan.
Trooper Brett D. Tappendorf, a native of St. Elmo, Illinois, has been assigned to Zone 6, which serves the citizens of Clark and Scotland counties. Trooper Tappendorf graduated from St. Elmo High School in St. Elmo, Illinois. He holds an associate’s of arts degree in criminal justice, and an associate’s of science degree in network administration from Lake Land College in Mattoon, Illinois. Prior to his appointment to the Patrol, he was employed as a mechanic in Altamont, Illinois. Trooper Tappendorf and his wife, Michele (Wendling), have one son: Andrew.
Trooper Bruce E. Thoman, a native of Manchester, Pennsylvania, has been assigned to Zone 10, which serves the citizens of Monroe and Randolph counties. Trooper Thoman graduated from Northeastern High School in Manchester, Pennsylvania, and attended Kansas State University in Manhattan, Kansas. Prior to his appointment to the Patrol, he served in the U.S. Army, and was employed by Fed Ex in Springfield, Missouri. Trooper Thoman is married to Alisa (Jones).
