EMPHASIS: 13 New Troopers Assigned To Troop A
Captain Robert L. Powell, commanding officer of Troop A, announces the assignment of 13 new troopers to the Troop A, Lee’s Summit area. These officers began training at the Highway Patrol’s Law Enforcement Academy in Jefferson City, Missouri, on July 1, 2010, and graduated on December 17, 2010, after receiving comprehensive training covering all facets of law enforcement.
Trooper Billy V. Cole will be assigned to Zone 1, which patrols Platte County. His training officer is Corporal Matthew B. “Matt” Koch. Tpr. Cole is a graduate of Shadow Mountain High School, in Phoenix, Arizona, and the University of Phoenix, where he earned an associate's of arts degree in business. He and his wife, Amanda (Adams), have one daughter, Jenna, 1.
Trooper Jeffrey W. Huff will be assigned to Zone 4, which patrols Clay County. His training officer is Trooper Matthew P. “Matt” Fisher. Tpr. Huff is a graduate of Wellsville High School, in Wellsville, Missouri, and Missouri Western State University in St. Joseph, Missouri, where he earned a bachelor's of science degree in business administration.
Trooper Daniel D.C. Wohler will be assigned to Zone 6, which patrols Jackson County. His training officer is Trooper Ryan A. Wood. Tpr. Wohler is a graduate of Raytown High School, in Raytown, Missouri, and Longview Community College, where he earned an associate’s of arts degree in criminal justice.
Trooper Romell F. Richardson will be assigned to Zone 6, which patrols Jackson County. His training officer is Trooper Casey E. Utterback. Tpr. Richardson is a graduate of Downers Grove North High School, in Downers Grove, Illinois, and Lindenwood Univiersity, in St. Charles, Missouri, where he earned a bachelor's of science degree in criminal justice.
Trooper Spencer D. Galaska will be assigned to Zone 7, which patrols Jackson County. His training officer is Corporal John W. Dick. Tpr. Galaska is a graduate of Farragut High School, in Knoxville, Tennessee, and attended Missouri Southern State College, in Joplin, Missouri. He is married to Katelyn (Banes).
Trooper Matt J. Hanrahan will be assigned to Zone 9, which patrols Lafayette County. His training officer is Trooper Brian R. Lange. Tpr. Hanrahan is a graduate of Warrensburg High School, in Warrensburg, Missouri, and Missouri State University, in Springfield, Missouri, where he earned a bachelor's of science degree in physical education.
Trooper Liere R. Dancy will be assigned to Zone 10, which patrols Saline County. Her training officer is Trooper Douglas E. “Doug” Fessenden. Tpr. Dancy is a graduate of Sparta High School in Sparta, Illinois, and Lincoln University, in Jefferson City, Missouri, where she earned a bachelor’s of science degree in criminal justice.
Trooper Jerod J. Crump will be assigned to Zone 12, which patrols Johnson County. His training officer is Trooper Joshua D. “Josh” Owens. Tpr. Crump graduated from Clinton High School in Clinton, Missouri, and University of Missouri, in Columbia, Missouri, where he earned a master's degree in business administration. He is married to Jamie (Wallace) and they have two children.
Trooper Brian R. Peters will be assigned to Zone 12, which patrols Johnson County. His training officer is Corporal Russell W. “Russ” Shaul. Tpr. Peters is a graduate of Belton High School, in Belton, Missouri, and the University of Central Missouri, in Warrensburg, Missouri, where he earned a bachelor's of science degree in criminal justice. He is engaged to Lauren Coleman.
Trooper Stephanie R. Schapp will be assigned to Zone 13, which patrols Pettis County. Her training officer is Corporal Mark D. DeGraffenreid. Tpr. Schapp is a graduate of McCluer High School, in Florissant, Missouri, and the University of Missouri - St. Louis, where she earned a bachelor's of science degree in criminal justice.
Trooper David A. Jones will be assigned to Zone 14, which patrols Bates County. His training officer is Trooper Kurt A. Schmutzler. Tpr. Jones is a graduate of Helias High School, in Jefferson City, Missouri. Prior to joining the Patrol, Tpr. Jones was a deputy sheriff in Johnson County, Missouri. He and his wife, Brianne (Hart), have one daughter, Allyxandria, 3.
Trooper David Nicolaescu will be assigned to Zone 15, which patrols Henry County. His training officer is Corporal Jeffrey M. “Jeff” Toal. Tpr. Nicolaescu is a graduate of Blair Oaks High School, in Jefferson City, Missouri, and attended the University of Central Missouri.
Trooper Blake R. De Haan will be assigned to Zone 17, which patrols Cass County. His training officer is Trooper M. David Miranda. Tpr. De Haan is a graduate of the College of the Ozarks, in Point Lookout, Missouri, where he earned a bachelor’s of arts degree in criminal justice.
