EMPHASIS: Captain Powell Announces Promotions
Captain Robert L. Powell, commanding officer of Troop A, Lee's Summit, announces the following promotions effective June 1, 2010:
Corporal Kevin M. Fisher was promoted to the rank of sergeant and will remain in his current assignment as the assistant supervisor of the Commercial Vehicle Enforcement Troopers (CVET) Unit assigned to Troop A. Fisher was appointed to the Patrol on February 1, 1998, as a member of the 75th Recruit Class. Upon graduating from the Patrol's Law Enforcement Academy in Jefferson City, he was assigned to Zone 12, Johnson County. He was promoted to corporal on June 1, 2003, and transferred to Bates County. On June 27, 2004, Fisher transferred to Zone 16, Benton County. In October 2007, he was selected as a member of the Troop A CVET Unit.
Fisher was born in Kansas City, Missouri. He graduated from Jefferson City High School in Jefferson City, Missouri, in 1995. He attended Lincoln University in Jefferson City, Missouri. Fisher earned an associate's of arts degree in criminal justice from Mineral Area College in Park Hills, Missouri. Sergeant Fisher is married to Stephanie (Hull), formerly of Kansas City, Missouri.
Trooper Michael P. Fennewald was promoted to the rank of corporal and will remain in his current assignment as a member of the Commercial Vehicle Enforcement Troopers (CVET) Unit assigned to Troop A. Fennewald was appointed to the Patrol on October 20, 2002, as a member of the 80th Recruit Class. Upon graduating from the Patrol's Law Enforcement Academy in Jefferson City, he was assigned to Zone 16, Benton County. In November 2006, he transferred to Troop F, Jefferson City, and was assigned to Cooper and Howard counties. In October 2007, he was selected as a member of the Troop A CVET Unit.
Fennewald was born in Springfield, Missouri. He graduated from California High School, in California, Missouri, in 1999. He attended Missouri Southern University in Joplin, Missouri. Corporal Fennewald has a four-year-old daughter.
Corporal Steven L. Lutjen, of Clinton, Missouri, was promoted to the rank of sergeant and will be designated the zone supervisor of Zone 17, serving Cass County. Lutjen was appointed to the Patrol on January 1, 1996, as a member of the 71st Recruit Class. Upon graduating from the Patrol's Law Enforcement Academy in Jefferson City, he was assigned to Troop A, Zone 15, serving Henry County. In 2001, Lutjen was promoted to corporal, and remained in Zone 15, Henry County.
Lutjen was born in Sedalia, Missouri. He graduated from Benton County R-1 High School, in Cole Camp, Missouri, in 1990. He served in the United States Marine Corps for six years prior to joining the Patrol. Lutjen earned an associate's degree in criminal justice from State Fair Community College in Sedalia, Missouri, in 1995. Sergeant Lutjen is married to Amy (Keller), formerly of Lincoln, Missouri, and they have two children: a daughter, Allison, 11, and a son, Tyler, 7.
Trooper Carl A. Taibi was promoted to the rank of corporal and will be designated as the assistant zone supervisor of Zone 2, serving Platte County. Taibi was appointed to the Patrol on October 20, 2002, as a member of the 80th Recruit Class. Upon graduating from the Patrol's Law Enforcement Academy in Jefferson City, he was assigned to Troop H, St. Joseph, serving Clinton and Caldwell counties. In November 2006, he transferred to Troop A, Lee's Summit, and was assigned to Zone 11, Cass County.
Taibi was born in Kansas City, Missouri. He graduated from Truman High School, in Independence, Missouri, in 1996. Corporal Taibi earned a bachelor's degree in criminal justice in 2000, from the University of Central Missouri, in Warrensburg, Missouri.
