EMPHASIS: Troop I Announces Promotions
Captain Lee Ann H. Kenley, commanding officer of Troop I, is pleased to announce the following promotions, effective August 1, 2010.
Corporal Gregory A. DuBois was promoted to sergeant and designated as the zone commander of Zone 1, which patrols Phelps and western Maries counties. Sergeant DuBois is a native of Salem, MO, and a 1992 graduate of Salem High School. DuBois is also a 1996 graduate of the University of Central Missouri, where he obtained a bachelor’s of science degree in criminal justice. Sgt. DuBois was appointed to the Missouri State Highway Patrol in January 1997, and upon graduation from the Academy was assigned to Troop I, Zone 1. DuBois also served as a canine officer for Troop I, from September 1999, until November 2003. On January 6, 2008, he was promoted to corporal and designated as the assistant zone commander of Zone1. Sgt. DuBois and his wife, Melissa (Curley), have two sons, Kaiden and Sylis.
Trooper Shawn D. Altermatt was promoted to corporal and designated the assistant zone commander of Zone 1. Cpl. Altermatt is a native of Willow Springs, MO, and a 1988 graduate of Willow Springs High School. Altermatt is also a 1995 graduate of Missouri State University, where he obtained a bachelor’s of science degree in wildlife management. Altermatt was employed as a soil scientist for the Missouri Department of Natural Resources prior to his appointment to the Highway Patrol Academy on February 1, 1998. Following his graduation, Altermatt was assigned to Troop E and stationed in Portageville. Altermatt transferred to Troop I, Rolla, on August 1, 2009. Cpl. Altermatt and his wife, Corena (Medvik), have one son, Gavin.
