EMPHASIS: New Troopers Assigned To Troop I
Captain Lee Ann H. Kenley, commanding officer of Troop I, announces the assignment of four new troopers to Troop I.
The newly assigned troopers were members of the 93rd Recruit Class, which began training on January 3, 2011, at the Missouri State Highway Patrol Law Enforcement Academy in Jefferson City, and graduated on June 24, 2011. The troopers reported to duty at Troop I Headquarters in Rolla, on July 11, 2011, and will continue their training under the guidance of their field training officers.
Trooper Eddie R. Jordan has been assigned to Zone 1, which patrols Phelps and eastern Maries counties. Tpr. Jordan, 25, is a native of Summersville, Missouri. He is a graduate of Summersville High School and is a member of the Missouri Army National Guard, serving with the 2175th MP Company. Tpr. Jordan is married to Julie Ann (Michel) and they have two children. Corporal Shawn D. Altermatt will serve as Tpr. Jordan’s field training officer.
Trooper Michael K. Eden has been assigned to Zone 4, which patrols Pulaski and western Maries counties. Tpr. Eden, 22, is a native of Cassville, Missouri. Tpr. Eden was home schooled and then attended Crowder College in Neosho, Missouri, where he obtained an associate of arts degree in both psychology and law enforcement in 2010. Trooper Chase A. Stallcup will serve as Tpr. Eden’s field training officer.
Trooper Nicholas A. Smith has been assigned to Zone 6, which patrols Pulaski and western Maries counties. Tpr. Smith, 25, is a native of Crescent City, Illinois, and is a graduate of Crescent-Iroquois High School in Crescent City. Tpr. Smith is also a 2009 graduate of Parkland College in Champaign, Illinois, where he earned an associate of arts degree in criminal justice. He is married to Kyria (Kuhlman). Trooper Kenneth A. Baldwin will serve as Tpr. Smith’s field training officer.
Trooper Michael S. Mizer has been assigned to Zone 8, which patrols Laclede County. Tpr. Mizer, 32, is a native of Lebanon, Missouri and is a graduate of Lebanon High School. He is currently attending Missouri State University, where he is studying criminal justice. Prior to his appointment to the Patrol he was a sergeant with the Lebanon Police Department. Tpr. Mizer has one son. Corporal Jason H. Glendenning will serve as Tpr. Mizer’s field training officer.
