EMPHASIS: Promotions And Transfers To General Headquarters
Colonel Michael A. Turner, superintendent of the Missouri State Highway Patrol, announces the following promotions and transfers effective June 1, 2026.
Sergeant Anthony M. Richerson, Troop F, will be promoted to lieutenant and will transfer to the Professional Standards Division (PSD), General Headquarters, Jefferson City, MO.
Richerson joined the Patrol on January 16, 2013, as a member of the 96th Recruit Class. After completing the Patrol’s Law Enforcement Academy, Richerson was assigned to Troop F, Zone 7, which serves Cooper and Howard counties. On February 1, 2020, Richerson was promoted to corporal as the assistant zone supervisor and remained in Zone 7. Richerson was then promoted to sergeant and designated the zone supervisor of Zone 7 on April 1, 2023.
Lt. Richerson grew up in Boonville, MO, and graduated from Boonville High School in 2005. In 2009, Richerson graduated from the University of Central Missouri with Bachelor of Science in criminal justice. Lt. Richerson is married to Nicole (Begemann) and they have one son, Roland.
Lieutenant John W. Dick will be promoted to captain and will serve as the director of PSD.
Dick was appointed to the Patrol on March 15, 2000, as a member of the 77th Recruit Class. After graduating from the Patrol’s Law Enforcement Academy, he was assigned to Troop H, Zone 4, Mercer and Grundy counties. On September 1, 2003, he transferred to Troop A, Zone 1, Platte County. Dick was promoted to corporal and transferred to Troop A, Zone 7, Jackson County, on May 27, 2007. He was promoted to sergeant on January 1, 2013, and designated zone supervisor of Zone 1, Platte County. On August 1, 2019, Dick was promoted to the rank of lieutenant and transferred to the Field Operations Bureau, General Headquarters. He then transferred to PSD on April 1, 2021, and served as an internal affairs investigator.
Captain Dick grew up in St. Joseph, MO, and graduated from Central High School. He attended Missouri Western State College in St. Joseph. Capt. Dick completed the Northwestern University School of Police Staff and Command in 2024. Capt. Dick and his wife, Jennifer (Mattson) Dick, have three children, Jenna, Joshua, and Jacie.
Captain Joseph A. Veasman will transfer from PSD to the Crime Laboratory Division and serve as the division director.
Veasman began his career with the Patrol on September 7, 2002, as a criminalist in the DNA Casework Section of the Crime Laboratory Division, General Headquarters, Jefferson City, MO. He was appointed to the Patrol's Law Enforcement Academy on May 31, 2005, as a member of the 84th Recruit Class. Upon graduating, he was assigned to Troop F, Zone 9, Montgomery County. He transferred to the Gaming Division (GD) and was assigned to the Isle of Capri Casino in Boonville, MO, in 2010. Veasman was promoted to corporal in 2012 and remained in his assignment. While he was assigned to GD, he also worked as a background investigator. In 2016, he transferred to Troop F, Zone 14, as a commercial vehicle enforcement trooper. He served as a member of the Troop F SWAT team. Veasman was promoted to sergeant in February 2019 and remained in that assignment. On October 1, 2021, Veasman was promoted to the rank of lieutenant and assigned to PSD. He was then promoted to captain of PSD on February 1, 2026.
Veasman grew up in both Dixon, MO, and Vienna, MO. He graduated from Vienna High School in 1998. He earned a Bachelor of Science in biology from the University of Missouri-Columbia, in 2002. He completed the Police Leadership-West Point Model course in 2019 and the Northwestern School of Police Staff and Command in 2021. In 2024, Veasman graduated from Columbia College with a master's degree in criminal justice administration. Capt. Veasman is married to Dr. Amanda Veasman and they have two daughters.
