EMPHASIS: Highway Patrol Makes Arrest and Recovers Stolen Property
At approximately 10:00 AM, December 17, 2004, a Missouri State Highway Patrol Trooper arrested a Licking resident for the theft of three trailers and several thousand dollars worth of tools.
On December 17, 2004, a state trooper received information that a truck possibly used in the theft of a trailer was at a residence in Cherryville, which is located in southern Crawford County. Troopers and officers from the Cuba Police Department went to the residence and located the truck and an attached trailer that they determined was stolen from Fairmont City, Illinois. At the home was Christopher R. Giller, age 34 of Licking, Missouri, who fled on foot when the officers arrived, but was apprehended and taken in custody shortly thereafter. During the investigation it was determined Giller was connected with the theft of two other trailers and power tools stolen from construction sites in Cuba and Sullivan, Missouri.
Giller was arrested on two counts of felony stealing and incarcerated in the Crawford County Jail on $20,000.00 bond.
The charges for which Giller has been arrested are mere accusations and are not evidence of guilt. Evidence in support of the charges must be presented before a court of competent jurisdiction, whose duty is to determine guilt or innocence.
