In preparation for the new charge code format that is effective January 1, 2016, the Traffic Arrest System/DWI Tracking System (TAS/DWITS)has been modified to accept the new code format. Effective December 29, 2015, the new charge code format is only one TAS/DWITS will accept. Uniform Citations (UCs) and arrests documented with the pre-2016 charge codes will have to be added to TAS/DWITS with the new charge code format. This includes charge code modifications made in the system as well. Uniform Citations and arrests downloaded into TAS/DWITS with the pre-2016 charge code will be converted to the new format. Both versions will be displayed in the system. Arrests and UCs entered manually into TAS/DWITSon or after December 29, 2015, will display only the new charge code.

To obtain the new charge code, you can reference the old charge code (pre-2016) in the Missouri Charge Code Manual (August 2015 – December 2016 version). Next to the pre-2016 charge code is the new associated charge code. New charge codes can also be obtained via the “CHGI - Charge Inquiry” in TAS/DWITS. Simply enter the first five digits of the pre-2016 charge code and the new charge code will appear. Please remember when entering UC and arrest information into TAS/DWITS to include the NCIC modifier as well as the state modifier. This entry must include the decimal between the two modifiers.
