EMPHASIS: Troop I To Conduct Saturated Traffic Enforcement Program
Captain Randy Becker, commanding officer of Troop I, announces that sometime during the month of July, troopers assigned to Troop I will be involved in a special enforcement operation specifically targeting those drivers who are either intoxicated or operating a motor vehicle in a careless and imprudent manner. During this operation, troopers will patrol highways in Pulaski County where statistics have shown a larger number of traffic crashes and arrests have occurred that involve alcohol or drivers operating vehicles in a hazardous manner.
Captain Randy Becker stated, “In 2005, nearly 25 percent of Missouri’s fatal traffic crashes were alcohol related. Sobriety spotchecks and enforcement operations where troopers patrol our roads specifically looking for such drivers have been successful in combating this serious problem. I want to encourage everyone to do their part in helping us save lives on our highways. Be responsible, obey all the rules of the road, and choose to not drink and drive.”
