EMPHASIS: Results Of Click Or Ticket Operation in Nodaway County

Captain James E. McDonald, commanding officer Troop H, St. Joseph, announces the results of a Click It or Ticket operation in Nodaway County. This was a twelve hour operation held from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. on May 30, 2014. During this enforcement operation four officers patrolled all roadways in Nodaway County with the primary focus on seatbelt violations and other traffic violations that contribute to traffic crashes. As a result of the operation, officers issued 27 citations and 36 warnings. The following is a list of enforcement contacts during the operation:

7--Citations were issued for exceeding the posted speed limit
9--Citations were issued for seatbelt violations
1--Citation was issued for a hazardous moving violation
8--Citations were issued for non-moving violations
1--Citation was issued for driving while suspended
1--Citation was issued for no insurance

“One of the Missouri State Highway Patrol’s top priorities is to enforce Missouri’s seatbelt law,” stated Captain McDonald. “Motorists reduce the risk of dying in a traffic crash by 45 percent when they buckle their seatbelt.”

In support of "The Drive To ZERO Highway Deaths," the Patrol encourages motorists to protect themselves and their passengers by making sure everyone in the vehicle is properly restrained in a seat belt or child restraint. Watercraft operators should ensure that everyone in the vessel is wearing an approved life jacket. Click It 4 Life And Wear It!!
