EMPHASIS: Announcements Of Sobriety Checkpoint and Hazardous Moving Vehicle Operation

Captain Duane L. Robinson, commanding officer of Troop H, St Joseph, announces that sometime during the month of September, Troop H will conduct a sobriety checkpoint and a hazardous moving vehicle operation. The sobriety checkpoint will be conducted in Nodaway County and the hazardous moving vehicle operation will take place in Andrew and Nodaway Counties.
The checkpoint is a static operation on a specific highway that is designed to check every driver to ensure they are sober. The hazardous moving vehicle operation is designed to focus on drivers who are driving in a hazardous manner that endangers other motorists.
Captain Robinson stated, “Both of these programs have a history of effectiveness, even though they are different in approach. The Missouri State Highway Patrol is tasked with highway safety and these operations help ensure the safety of the motoring public.”
