EMPHASIS: Troop E Announces Hazardous Moving Operation And DWI Checkpoint

Captain George E. Ridens, commanding officer of Troop E, Poplar Bluff, Missouri, announces that sometime during the month of July 2014, Troop E officers will conduct a sobriety checkpoint and a hazardous moving vehicle operation. The sobriety checkpoint will be in Cape Girardeau County, and the hazardous moving vehicle operation will be held throughout the Troop E area. The operation will be conducted by the Missouri State Highway Patrol in cooperation with local law enforcement agencies.

The checkpoint is a static operation on a specific highway that is designed to check every driver to ensure they are sober. The hazardous moving operation is designed to target vehicles that are being operated in a hazardous manner.

In support of "The Drive To ZERO Highway Deaths," the Patrol encourages motorists to protect themselves and their passengers by making sure everyone in the vehicle is properly restrained in a seat belt or child restraint. Watercraft operators should ensure that everyone in the vessel is wearing an approved life jacket. Click It 4 Life And Wear It!!
