EMPHASIS: Troop G To Conduct Special Enforcement Projects In March

Captain Billy E. Chadwick, commanding officer of Troop G, Willow Springs, announces that a sobriety checkpoint will be held in Texas County sometime in the month of March. The Missouri State Highway Patrol in cooperation with other area law enforcement agencies will conduct the checkpoint.

Sobriety checkpoints are part of the Patrol’s efforts to remove careless and intoxicated drivers from Missouri’s highways, and are conducted at various locations which have been found to experience a higher than normal number of alcohol-related contacts, hazardous driving contacts, and traffic crashes.

Troop G also will conduct a DWI saturation in Ozark County and a hazardous moving violations/S.T.E.P. project in Howell and Shannon counties sometime in the month of March. These projects will target DWI enforcement along with other hazardous moving and alcohol-related offenses.

Captain Chadwick says, “The use of special enforcement projects enable the Missouri State Highway Patrol to enhance our efforts in removing drugged, intoxicated, and careless drivers from our roadways. Please, drive carefully and never drink or take drugs and drive.”
