EMPHASIS: Atchison County Sobriety Checkpoint Results

On March 13, 2010, a sobriety checkpoint was conducted in Atchison County. A total of 10 troopers were assigned to the four-hour operation.
No arrests were made for driving while intoxicated, and troopers issued 21 warnings to motorists for minor violations. A total of 35 vehicles came into the checkpoint.
Captain Duane L. Robinson stated, “Motorists who entered the checkpoint spent a brief moment speaking with an officer and then continued on their way. This is but a minor inconvenience to ensure a safe roadway free of intoxicated drivers.”
