EMPHASIS: Troop I Announces DWI Saturation

Captain James W. Remillard, commanding officer of Troop I, announces that sometime during the month of February, troopers assigned to Troop I will be involved in a special enforcement operation specifically targeting those drivers who are operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol or drugs. During this operation, troopers will patrol various highways in Crawford County where statistics have shown a larger number of crashes and arrests involving impaired drivers have occurred in the past.
“Too many people are seriously injured or killed on the streets and highways of our great state every year by impaired drivers,” said Captain Remillard. “These saturation patrols will serve as another very important tool in fighting this very serious problem.”
In support of “The Drive To Zero Highway Deaths” the Patrol encourages motorist to protect themselves and their passengers by making sure everyone in the vehicle is properly restrained in a seat belt or child restraint. Watercraft operators should ensure that everyone in the vessel is wearing an approved life jacket. Click It 4 Life and Wear It!!!
