EMPHASIS: Passenger Safety Enforcement Program


On September 24, 2010, a passenger safety enforcement program was conducted on Interstate 35 in Troop H. A total of nine troopers were assigned to the 12-hour operation. Troopers issued 13 traffic summonses, including six seat belt violations. Troopers also wrote 39 warnings and worked three crashes during the operation.
Captain Duane L. Robinson stated, “Today’s cars and trucks have many safety features, but all of them are built around the safety belt. We encourage the public to wear their belt not because it’s the law, but rather for the value it has.”
