EMPHASIS: Troop G Releases C.A.R.E. Holiday Totals

Captain Mark G. Inman, commanding officer, Troop G, Willow Springs, announces the following traffic totals for the C.A.R.E. (Combined Accident Reduction Effort) Life Saver Weekend:

Troop G reported zero fatal traffic crashes, investigated one alcohol-related collision, and investigated 23 crashes on C.A.R.E. designated highways. Troopers made seven DWI arrests, five drug arrests, issued 184 speed citations, 72 seat belt summonses, and four child restraint citations. Additionally, officers issued 391 warnings and provided 176 motorist assists or calls for service.

Captain Inman says, “Please be careful as you travel Missouri’s roadways. Limit your distractions, don’t drink and drive, always wear your seat belt, and pay close attention to the task of driving.”

Approximately 63 percent of Missouri fatal crash victims who are required to be restrained are NOT at the time of the traffic crash. The Patrol urges motorists to protect themselves and their passengers by making sure everyone in the vehicle is properly restrained in a seat belt or child restraint.
