EMPHASIS: Results Of DWI Checkpoint In St. Charles County

Captain Ronald S. Johnson, commanding officer of Troop C, announces the results of a sobriety checkpoint conducted on Saturday evening, May 2, 2015. The checkpoint was held from 10 p.m. on Saturday, May 2, to 3 a.m. on Sunday, May 3, 2015, and was located at Missouri Highway 94 just south of Route D in St. Charles County. The location was determined by past arrests, incidents, and traffic crashes in the county.

A total of 482 vehicles were stopped during this five-hour operation. Members of the Missouri State Highway Patrol made the following enforcement contacts:

9 -- DWI arrests
3 -- drug arrests

Captain Johnson stated, "The focus of law enforcement is to enforce all laws and apprehend violators. The goal of DWI enforcement projects is to deter impaired driving and to make citizens aware that drinking and driving will not be tolerated."

To report a suspected impaired driver dial 9-1-1 or *55 on a cell phone.

In support of “The Drive To ZERO Highway Deaths,” the Patrol encourages motorists to protect themselves and their passengers by making sure everyone in the vehicle is properly restrained in a seat belt or child restraint. Watercraft operators should ensure that everyone in the vessel is wearing an approved life jacket. Click It 4 Life And Wear It!!
