EMPHASIS: Announcement Of Sobriety Checkpoint And Driving While Intoxicated Saturations

Captain Duane L. Robinson, commanding officer of Troop H, St Joseph, announces that sometime during the month of September, Troop H will conduct a sobriety checkpoint and two driving while intoxicated saturations. The sobriety checkpoint will be held in Atchison County and the saturations will be conducted in Buchanan and Daviess counties.
The checkpoint is a static operation on a specific highway that is designed to check every driver to ensure they are not impaired. The driving while intoxicated saturation is a mobile operation in which troopers saturate a specific highway in an effort to arrest intoxicated drivers.
Captain Robinson urges the public to report all impaired drivers. “The sobriety operations help to ensure the safety of motorists by arresting impaired drivers who endanger other motorists,” stated Captain Robinson.
To report unsafe driving, motorists can use the Patrol’s emergency telephone numbers. They are 1-800-525-5555 or, on a cellular phone, *55.
