EMPHASIS: Troop C Assigns Six New Troopers


Captain Ronald S. Johnson, commanding officer of Troop C, is pleased to announce six new troopers are assigned to the Troop C. The new troopers were members of the Patrol’s 100th Recruit Class, which graduated on June 26, 2015. The troopers completed 25 weeks of intense training at the Patrol’s Law Enforcement Academy in Jefferson City, Missouri. The new troopers will report to their assignment on Monday, July 13, 2015. They will work with a field-training officer for approximately three months before working independently. The new troopers assigned to Troop C and their assignments are as follows:

Trooper Donald L. Bilyeu, a native of Litchfield, Illinois, was assigned to Zone 8, serving St. Charles County. Trooper Bilyeu is a graduate of Litchfield High School in Litchfield Illinois, and attended Illinois College in Jacksonville, Illinois, where he received a bachelor’s degree in finance. Prior to joining the Highway Patrol, Trooper Bilyeu worked as a tax accountant for Tax-To-Go in St. Peters, Missouri. Trooper Bilyeu also served as a combat engineer in the United Stated Marine Corps Reserve and the Illinois National Guard. Trooper Bilyeu is married to Christina “Christi” (Klobnak) and has one child, Alenah, 1.

Trooper Aaron T. Borgic, a native of Taylorville, Illinois, was assigned to Zone 5, serving Lincoln and Pike counties. Trooper Borgic is a graduate of Morrisonville High School in Morrisonville, Illinois, and attended Western Illinois University in Macomb, Illinois, where he received a bachelor’s degree in law enforcement and justice administration. Prior to joining the Highway Patrol, Trooper Borgic worked in produce at Kroger in Taylorville, Illinois.

Trooper Eric D. Diaz, a native of New York, New York, was assigned to Zone 1, serving North St. Louis County. Trooper Diaz is a graduate of CVCS High School in Chambersburg, Pennsylvania. Prior to joining the Highway Patrol, Trooper Diaz worked in sports management for DSM-R LLC in New York, New York. Trooper Diaz also served as an operations specialist in the United States Navy. Trooper Diaz is engaged and has two children, Yazmin, 15, and Izabella, 1.

Trooper Joseph A. Kuczka, a native of High Ridge, Missouri, was assigned to Zone 3, serving South St. Louis and Jefferson counties. Trooper Kuczka is a graduate of Northwest High School in Cedar Hill, Missouri, and attended the University of Missouri in St. Louis, Missouri, where he received a bachelor’s degree in criminology and criminal justice. Prior to joining the Highway Patrol, Trooper Kuczka worked as a machinist at All Cut, Inc. in St. Louis, Missouri.

Trooper Matthew J. Lamoureux, a native of St. Louis, Missouri, was assigned to Zone 7, serving Warren County. Trooper Lamoureux is a graduate of Christian Brothers College High School in St. Louis, Missouri. After high school he attended the University of Central Missouri in Warrensburg, Missouri, where he received a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice. Prior to joining the Highway Patrol, Trooper Lamoureux worked with the University of Central Missouri’s SAFE Team in Warrensburg, Missouri.


Trooper Derek L. Walker, a native of Cape Girardeau, Missouri, was assigned to Zone 4, serving South St. Louis and Jefferson counties. Trooper Walker is a graduate of Cape Girardeau High School in Cape Girardeau, Missouri, and attended Southeast Missouri State University in Cape Girardeau, Missouri, where he received a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice. Prior to joining the Highway Patrol, he worked with the Division of Youth Services at Hogan Street Youth Center in St. Louis, Missouri. Trooper Walker has one child, Ziryn, 3.
