EMPHASIS: Troop B Officers To Conduct DWI Saturations And A Sobriety Checkpoint During The Months Of August And September 2014

Captain James E. Wilt, commanding officer of Troop B, Macon, announces upcoming DWI enforcement saturations and a sobriety checkpoint.
Sometime during the month of August and September 2014, Troop B officers will be conducting DWI enforcement saturations in Monroe, Ralls, and Knox counties. Additionally, sometime in September 2014 a sobriety checkpoint will be held in Scotland County. The checkpoint will be conducted by the Missouri State Highway Patrol in cooperation with area law enforcement agencies.
"The Patrol is serious about removing the alcohol-impaired driver from our highways," stated Captain Wilt. "Driving while intoxicated continues to be a major contributing factor of traffic crashes in Missouri."
Captain Wilt urges all citizens to help law enforcement efforts to apprehend intoxicated drivers. If you suspect a motorist of driving while intoxicated or observe a vehicle being driven in an erratic manner, contact the nearest law enforcement agency. The Highway Patrol toll-free numbers for reporting emergencies are 1-800-525-5555 or cellular *55.
In support of "The Drive To ZERO Highway Deaths," the Patrol encourages motorists to protect themselves and their passengers by making sure everyone in the vehicle is properly restrained in a seat belt or child restraint. Watercraft operators should ensure that everyone in the vessel is wearing an approved life jacket. Click It 4 Life and Wear It!!!
