Captain Ronald S. Johnson, commanding officer of Troop C, Weldon Spring, announces the results of a driving while intoxicated saturation conducted on Saturday, March 19, 2011, in St. Louis County. Four Missouri State Highway Patrol troopers conducted the enforcement operation during the eight-hour project.
As a result of the enforcement program, a total of 27 arrests were made and 21 warnings were issued. Of the 27 arrests, 3 persons were arrested for driving while intoxicated. Two summonses for speed, five for no seat belt, five for driver’s license violations, and six for non-moving violations were issued. Two individuals were arrested on misdemeanor warrants. The remainder of the arrests was for miscellaneous traffic violations.
“Sobriety saturations are very important in making our highways a safer place to travel,” stated Captain Johnson. “Troop C officers will be conducting various special enforcement operations throughout 2011 with a goal of reducing traffic crashes and saving lives.”
