EMPHASIS: Results Of "Click It Or Ticket" Enforcement Program Conducted In Troop B


Captain James E. Wilt, commanding officer of Troop B, Macon, announces the results of a "Click It Or Ticket" enforcement program conducted in the Troop B area on April 15, 2013.
On April 15, 2013, Troop B officers joined statewide efforts with other law enforcement efforts for an aggressive "Click It Or Ticket" enforcement mobilization. As a result of the enforcement program, officers made four arrests, and issued 31 traffic citations and 63 warnings. The following is breakdown of traffic citations issued:

10-- Citations issued for exceeding the posted speed limit
1 -- Citation issued for careless driving
13 -- Citations issued for failure to wear a seat belt
1 -- Citation issued for a hazardous moving violation
3 -- Citations issued for non-moving violations
1 -- Citation issued for a license violation
2 -- Citations issued for insurance violations
1 -- Arrest for person under 21 years of age possessing an intoxicating beverage
1 -- Arrest for a misdemeanor warrant
2 -- Arrests for misdemeanor criminal offenses

"Last year traffic crash statistics showed that over 60 percent of individuals killed in Missouri traffic crashes were unrestrained," stated Captain Wilt. "Seat belts can and do save lives. The Patrol will be conducting future seat belt enforcement programs throughout the upcoming year."
The Patrol encourages motorist and watercraft operators to protect themselves by making sure everyone in the vehicle is properly restrained in a seat belt or child restraint and everyone in the vessel is wearing an approved life jacket. Click It 4 Life and Wear it!!!
