EMPHASIS: Traffic Stop Results In Drug Arrest In Lafayette County
On October 4, 2008, at approximately 2:17 a.m., a Missouri State Highway Patrol trooper stopped a 2007 Honda for failing to stop at a stop sign and tinted windows on westbound Interstate 70 at the 43-mile marker in Lafayette County.
Several inconsistencies were found during the conversation with the driver prompting the trooper to ask for consent to search the vehicle, which the driver granted. A search of the vehicle resulted in the seizure of four pounds of marijuana from the trunk of the vehicle.
The driver, Brittany Y. Fuller, 21, of Kansas City, Missouri, was arrested for possession of marijuana with intent to distribute and transported to the Lafayette County Jail.
The charge for which Brittany Y. Fuller was arrested is a mere accusation and not evidence of guilt. Evidence in support of the charge must be presented before a court of competent jurisdiction whose duty is to determine guilt or innocence.
