EMPHASIS: Captain Shipers Announces The Promotion Of Lieutenant Clark N. Stratton


Captain Scott A. Shipers, commanding officer of Troop A, Lee's Summit, announces effective June 1, 2015, Sergeant Clark N. Stratton was promoted to the rank of lieutenant and assigned as the District 1 operations lieutenant. Lieutenant Stratton is a 23-year veteran with the Missouri State Highway Patrol.

Stratton was appointed to the Patrol on January 1, 1992, as a member of the 64th Recruit Class. Upon graduation from the Patrol's Law Enforcement Academy in Jefferson City, he was assigned to Troop D, Zone 11, serving Jasper County. In July 1994, he transferred to Troop A, Lee’s Summit, Zone 6, serving Jackson County. In June 1997, he was promoted to corporal and remained assigned to Zone 6. Stratton was promoted to sergeant in December 2001, and designated zone supervisor of Zone 11, Cass County. In 2007, he transferred to Troop A headquarters and was assigned as the property control officer.

Stratton was born in Bethany, Missouri. He graduated from Bethany High School in 1985. He earned a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice from the University of Central Missouri, in 1989. Lieutenant Stratton and his wife, Beth, have three children: Henry, Elizabeth, and Maggie.
