EMPHASIS: Marijuana Seized In Montgomery County
On September 24, 2008, an officer of the Missouri State Highway Patrol initiated a traffic stop and after receiving conflicting information from the driver, consent to search was requested and granted. A subsequent search of the vehicle revealed 100 pounds of marijuana. The traffic stop took place on Interstate 70 at the 175-mile marker in Montgomery County.
The driver, William M. Channell, 30, of Frisco, CO, was arrested and charged with possession of a controlled substance with intent to distribute.
The charge for which Channell has been arrested is mere accusation and is not evidence of guilt. Evidence in support of the charge must be presented before a court of competent jurisdiction whose duty is to determine guilt or innocence.
