EMPHASIS: September Projects Scheduled For Troop D

Captain Juan Villanueva, commanding officer of Troop D, Springfield, announces that sometime during the month of September, Troop D will conduct two sobriety checkpoints, a hazardous moving violation saturation, and a multi-day driving while intoxicated saturation. The checkpoints will be held in Greene and Stone counties, the hazardous moving violation saturation is scheduled for Lawrence County, and the driving while intoxicated saturation is to be held in Taney County.

In addition, the Commercial Vehicle Enforcement Division of the Missouri State Highway Patrol, in conjunction with the Commercial Vehicle Safety Alliance, will participate in "Brake Safety Awareness Week," scheduled for September 8 through September 14, 2013. The educational outreach program is designed to train companies, drivers, and mechanics about proper brake adjustment limits and air brake system inspection. Along with the educational program, troopers and commercial vehicle officers in Troop D will concentrate enforcement efforts for the week on brake violation detection. Captain Villanueva invites all trucking companies who would like to participate in the program to contact the commercial vehicle enforcement office at Troop D Headquarters. The telephone number is 417-895-6767, extension 3458.

The Patrol encourages motorists and watercraft operators to protect themselves by making sure everyone in the vehicle is properly restrained in a seat belt or child restraint and everyone in the vessel is wearing an approved life jacket. Click It 4 Life and Wear It!!!
