EMPHASIS: Troop I To Conduct Boater Safety Classes July 28, 2015, And July 30, 2015

Captain James W. Remillard, commanding officer, Troop I, Rolla, announces boater safety classes will be conducted at Troop I Headquarters in Rolla, Missouri, on July 28, 2015, and July 30, 2015. The classes will start at 6 p.m. and will conclude at 10 p.m. each evening. Any person born after January 1, 1984, and operating a vessel on Missouri lakes is required to have a valid Missouri boater safety card. To sign up for the classes, please go the Missouri State Highway Patrol website at www.mshp.dps.missouri.gov. On the left side of the main page look for the tab entitled āTrainingā and select Boat Safety and Education, select Rolla as the correct site, fill out the registration form, and then select submit. It should be noted that in order to meet the certification requirements, attendance to BOTH CLASSES IS REQUIRED. The class is free of charge. The deadline to sign up for these classes is July 24, 2015.
Approximately 63 percent of Missouri fatal crash victims who are required to be restrained are NOT at the time of the traffic crash. The Patrol encourages motorists to protect themselves and their passengers by making sure everyone in the vehicle is properly restrained in a seat belt or child restraint. Join us in supporting the Drive To Zero Highway Deaths. Watercraft operators should ensure that everyone in the vessel is wearing an approved life jacket. Click It 4 Life And Wear It!!
