EMPHASIS: Announcements Of Sobriety Checkpoint, Saturation, and Hazardous Moving Operation

Captain Duane L. Robinson, commanding officer of Troop H, St Joseph, announces that sometime during the month of July, Troop H will conduct a sobriety checkpoint, a driving while intoxicated saturation, and a hazardous moving vehicle operation. The sobriety checkpoint will be in Livingston County, the saturation will be conducted in Buchanan County, and the hazardous moving vehicle operation will be held in Daviess County.
The checkpoint is a static operation on a specific highway that is designed to check every driver to ensure they are sober. The driving while intoxicated saturation is a mobile operation in which troopers saturate a specific highway in an effort to arrest intoxicated drivers. The hazardous moving operation is designed to target vehicles that are being operated in a hazardous manner.
To report aggressive driving, motorists can use the Patrol’s emergency telephone numbers. They are 1-800-525-5555 or cellular *55.
