EMPHASIS: Announcement Of Sobriety Checkpoint And Saturation

Captain Duane L. Robinson, commanding officer of Troop H, St Joseph, announces that sometime during the month of May, Troop H will conduct a sobriety checkpoint and a driving while intoxicated saturation operation. The sobriety checkpoint and saturation will be conducted in Buchanan County.
The checkpoint is a static operation on a specific highway that is designed to check every driver to ensure they are sober. The driving while intoxicated saturation is a mobile operation in which troopers saturate a specific highway in an effort to arrest intoxicated drivers.
Captain Robinson stated, “Both of these programs have a history of effectiveness, even though they are different in approach. The Missouri State Highway Patrol is tasked with highway safety and these operations help ensure the safety of the motoring public.”
