EMPHASIS: Sobriety Checkpoint Results
Captain Vincent J. Ellis, commanding officer of Troop A, announces the results of two sobriety checkpoints in Clay County by members of the Kansas City, Missouri, Police Department and the Missouri State Highway Patrol. The checkpoints were held at U.S. Highway 169 and Richards Road, and U.S. Highway 169 and Barry Road.
Total arrests for the checkpoints included nine driving while intoxicated arrests, two seat belt arrests, two commercial vehicle hazardous moving violations, four driver’s license violations, and four misdemeanor warrant arrests.
“The impaired driver continues to be a major contributor to serious traffic crashes in the state of Missouri. Sobriety checkpoints are a part of law enforcement’s efforts to remove the intoxicated driver from Missouri’s roadways, and we will continue to pursue this goal,” said Captain Ellis.
