Captain Ronald S. Johnson, commanding officer of Troop C, Weldon Spring, announces the results of SAFETE, an enforcement program focusing on violations of commercial motor vehicles. SAFETE was conducted on March 24, 2015, in St. Louis County. During the project, six troopers focused their enforcement activities on hazardous operations of commercial motor vehicles to ensure that commercial vehicles and drivers are operating safely on the nation's highways.

As a result of the enforcement program, the following summonses were issued:
Seat Belt -- 3 summonses
Non Moving Violations -- 1 summons
Commercial Vehicle Violations -- 8 summonses
Vehicles Placed Out-of-Service -- 5
Drivers Placed Out-of-Service -- 3
Commercial Vehicles Inspected -- 21
Warnings -- 61

Captain Johnson stated, “Enforcement of commercial motor vehicle violations is critical to the safety of the motoring public. Please assist us in our efforts by reporting careless drivers and other suspicious activities on Missouri’s roadways.”

In support of "The Drive To ZERO Highway Deaths," the Patrol encourages motorists to protect themselves and their passengers by making sure everyone in the vehicle is properly restrained in a seat belt or child restraint. Watercraft operators should ensure that everyone in the vessel is wearing an approved life jacket. Click It 4 Life And Wear It!!
