EMPHASIS: Results Of Phelps County DWI Saturation

Captain Randy L. Becker, commanding officer of Troop I, announces the results of a DWI saturation patrol conducted in Phelps County from 7 p.m., March 14, 2008 until 3 a.m., March 15, 2008. During the operation, troopers placed special emphasis on patrolling those highways where in the past a larger number of impaired drivers were either involved in a traffic crash or arrested for DWI.
During the enforcement operation troopers stopped 79 vehicles, and issued 27 citations and 100 warnings. The following is a breakdown of the arrests:
DWI: 2
Speeding: 7
Failure To Wear A Seat Belt: 9
No Child Restraint: 1
Hazardous Moving Violation: 1
Non-moving Traffic Violations: 4
Driver’s License Violation: 1
Other Misdemeanor Violations: 2
