EMPHASIS: New Troopers Assigned To Troop D


Captain Juan Villanueva, commanding officer of Troop D, Springfield, announces the assignment of two new troopers to Troop D. The newly assigned troopers were members of the 96th Recruit Class, which began training on January 16, 2013, at the Missouri State Highway Patrol Law Enforcement Academy in Jefferson City, and graduated July 12, 2013. The troopers will report to duty at Troop D Headquarters in Springfield, on July 29, 2013, and then continue their training under the guidance of their field training officers.

Trooper William J. Wood has been assigned to Zone 9, which patrols Cedar and St. Clair counties. He is a native of West Plains, Missouri, and a 2010 graduate of West Plains High School. Wood has earned an associate's degree in general studies from Missouri State University, West Plains. Prior to his appointment, he was employed by Wood & Huston Bank, West Plains. He will work under the supervision of Sergeant Gary W. Riggs; his field training officer will be Trooper Adam S. Rice.

Trooper Reese E. Douthett has been assigned to Zone 16, which patrols Dallas and Hickory counties. Originally from Klamath Falls, Oregon, he is a 1984 graduate of Siloam Springs High School, Siloam Springs, Arkansas. Douthett served in the United States Army from 1984 to 1988 and from 1994 to 1997, where he earned the rank of E-4. Prior to his appointment, he was employed as a police officer with the Southwest City (MO) Police Department. Trooper Douthett is married to Freidann (Pouge) and they have six children. He will work under the supervision of Sergeant L. Clay Crowe; his field training officer will be Trooper Andy R. Dill.
