EMPHASIS: Traffic Stop In Cass County Results In Drug Arrest
On August 20, 2009, at approximately 9:08 p.m., a Missouri State Highway Patrol trooper arrested Charles L. Trissal, 54, of Latour, Missouri, for felony possession of a controlled substance with the intent to distribute.
Charles L. Trissal was arrested after a Patrol officer initiated a traffic stop on eastbound Missouri Highway 2 at Route K, in Cass County, for a lane violation and speeding. The Patrol officer detected the odor of marijuana coming from inside the vehicle. A search of the vehicle resulted in the seizure of 13 bundles of marijuana, weighing approximately 15 pounds, located inside a black trash bag on the rear floorboard. Charles L. Trissal was transported to the Cass County Jail.
The charge for which Charles L. Trissal was arrested for is mere accusation and not evidence of guilt. Evidence in support of the charge must be presented before a court of competent jurisdiction, whose duty is to determine guilt or innocence.
