A total of 39 arrests and 33 warnings were issued in conjunction with a sobriety checkpoint conducted in Douglas County. The checkpoint was held from 4:00 - 8:00 p.m. on June 9, 2007, at the intersection of Missouri Route 181 and Route AA.
These totals include one misdemeanor driving while intoxicated arrest, two speed arrests, four misdemeanor drug arrests, and four minor in possession arrests. Officers also made six misdemeanor warrant arrests, two misdemeanor criminal arrests, six driver’s license arrests, six seat belt arrests, four non-moving arrests, and four uninsured motorist arrests.
“Intoxicated drivers create a hazard for everyone on the road,” said Capt. Chadwick. “Please don’t drink and drive, and always exercise the highest degree of care when you get behind the wheel.”
