EMPHASIS: Child Passenger Safety Enforcement Program To Be Conducted In Troop F
Captain Gregory D. Kindle, commanding officer of Troop F, Jefferson City, announces that Troop F will participate in a program designed to promote seat belt and child restraint usage for all motorists. The program will be conducted during September 19-25, 2010, throughout the 13 counties within the Troop F area. This high-visibility enforcement campaign is necessary because we continue to lose too many lives on our roadways. In 2008, 489 people who were fatally injured in traffic crashes were not properly restrained.
Funding for the project is being provided by the Missouri Safety Center. Troopers will be enforcing a "zero tolerance" policy regarding the usage of seat belts and child restraint devices.
Captain Kindle stated, "To reduce the chances of being fatally or seriously injured in a traffic crash, we ask all occupants to make it a habit to buckle up.”
