EMPHASIS: Troop I Announces Results Of Sobriety Checkpoint


A total of 22 arrests were made and 101 warnings issued as a result of a sobriety checkpoint held on U.S. Highway 63, approximately one-half mile north of the Rolla city limits on September 1, 2007. Assisting the Missouri State Highway Patrol at the checkpoint was the Phelps County Sheriff’s Department. Arrest totals were as follows:
DWI: 2 (one of which was a felony)
Felony Possession Of A Controlled Substance: 3
Seat Belt Violations: 5
Non-moving Traffic Offenses: 4
Driver’s License Violations: 7
Uninsured Motorists: 1

Captain Randy Becker, commanding officer of Troop I, stated, “I would like to thank everyone who was stopped at the checkpoint for their patience. I sincerely hope that our efforts helped improve the safety of our highways.”
