EMPHASIS: Troop B Officers To Participate In Statewide Holiday DWI Enforcement Campaign And C.A.R.E. Life Saver Weekend During The Christmas And New Year's Holidays

Captain James E. Wilt, commanding officer of Troop B, Macon, announces that Troop B officers will be participating in the statewide 2014 Holiday DWI Enforcement Campaign in an effort to stop people from driving impaired this holiday season from December 12, 2014 through January 1, 2015. During that time period enforcement efforts will be increased and will focus on reducing deaths and injuries caused by impaired drivers. Troopers will also be participating in the C.A.R.E. Life Saver weekend from December 19, 2014 through December 22, 2014.
"The holiday season is a time for many celebrations, some of those celebrations may include alcohol," stated Captain Wilt. "Losing a loved one during the holiday season is a tragedy no one should have to endure. If drinking alcohol is a part of your plans, be responsible and choose a sober driver."
In support of "The Drive To ZERO Highway Deaths," the Patrol encourages motorists to protect themselves and their passengers by making sure everyone in the vehicle is properly restrained in a seat belt or child restraint. Watercraft operators should ensure that everyone in the vessel is wearing an approved life jacket. Click It 4 Life And Wear It!!
