EMPHASIS: Technology In New Vehicles Assist Law Enforcement In Saving Lives.


In today’s society, technology is ever changing, and can bring challenges to law enforcement. However, with new technology in the auto and trucking industry, law enforcement and private companies are better equipped to recover stolen vehicles/tractor trailers, while reducing the risk of injuries.

A news conference will be held Wednesday, August 12, 2009, at 11:00 a.m. at Prime Trucking Inc., located at 2740 N. Mayfair, Springfield, Missouri. The Missouri State Highway Patrol, Prime Trucking Inc., and Reliable Chevrolet officials will demonstrate how new technology is saving lives. For instance: Owners of vehicles equipped with OnStar can report a vehicle stolen, and OnStar can work with authorities to remotely slow down the vehicle to assist in its safe recovery. Tractors on display by Prime Inc. will be equipped with forward looking radar, lane departure warning systems, rollover stability control, and GPS tracking technology.

Officials from Reliable Chevrolet, Prime Trucking Inc., and the Highway Patrol will have vehicles displayed to demonstrate the mentioned technology. A truck driving simulator and a tour of Prime Trucking’s tracking system will be provided.
