EMPHASIS: Thanksgiving Holiday Enforcement Totals For Troop H


Captain Duane L. Robinson, commanding officer of Troop H in St. Joseph, announces the Thanksgiving weekend traffic crash and enforcement totals for the Troop H area. During the holiday weekend, troopers participated in Operation C.A.R.E. (Combined Accident Reduction Effort) and the 20 -Mile Trooper operation. The 2013 Thanksgiving weekend traffic crash counting period began at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, November 27, 2013, and ended at 11:59 p.m. on December 1, 2013. The following are totals from the enforcement operations:
DWI: 11
Speed: 374
Failed To Yield: 1
Seat Belt: 88
Child Restraint: 7
Following Too Close: 7
Other Hazardous Moving: 1
Non-moving Violations: 13
No Driver License: 4
Driving While Suspended: 2
Uninsured Motorist: 11
Misdemeanor Drug Possession: 23
Misdemeanor Warrant Arrest: 1
Warnings: 1,106
Motorists assisted: 240
Troopers also investigated 11 crashes that resulted in two injuries. There were no fatalities recorded in Troop H.
Captain Robinson stated, “I am pleased that there was no fatal traffic crashes in Troop H during the holiday weekend. Make sure to buckle up while traveling and enjoy the holidays responsibly.”
The Patrol encourages motorists and watercraft operators to protect themselves by making sure everyone in the vehicle is properly restrained in a seat belt or child restraint and everyone in the vessel is wearing an approved life jacket. Click It 4 Life and Wear It!!!
