EMPHASIS: Troop H Announces Holiday Enforcement Program

Captain Duane L. Robinson, commanding officer of Troop H, St. Joseph, announces that Troop H will participate in a project for the Memorial Day holiday weekend to promote driving safety. The 20-Mile Trooper project is an initiative to reduce fatalities on interstates and designated highways in Missouri. The program dates are May 25, 2012, and May 28, 2012. The duration of each enforcement program will be 12 hours. The designated highways for the program in Troop H are Interstate 35, and U. S. Highways 36, 65, 71, and 169. The focus of the program is traffic violations, with an emphasis on impaired driving.

Troop H is currently experiencing a 15% reduction in traffic fatalities compared to the same time period last year, and the Patrol is committed to continuing crash and fatality reduction through our education and enforcement efforts.

“We all have a travel plan for the holiday weekend. Our mission is to make the highways as safe as possible,” states Capt. Robinson. “Make sure everyone in your vehicle is properly restrained in a seat belt or child restraint.”
