EMPHASIS: Troop I Announces Results Of DWI Saturation

Captain James W. Remillard, commanding officer of Troop I, announces the results of a DWI saturation patrol conducted in Crawford County. The enforcement operation began at 7 p.m. on September 6, 2014, and ended at 3 a.m. on September 7, 2014. During the operation, the two participating troopers were assigned to patrol those highways where in the past a higher number of traffic crashes and arrests had occurred involving alcohol- or drug-impaired drivers.
During the enforcement operation the troopers either issued citations or made arrests for the following violations:
DWI: 2
Speed: 1
Failure To Wear A Seat Belt: 7
Hazardous Moving Violations: 2
Driving While Suspended Or Revoked: 1
No Proof Of Insurance: 1
Minor In Possession: 1
Warnings: 4

“Too many people are seriously injured or killed on Missouri’s streets and highways every year by drunk drivers or those under the influence of illegal drugs,” said Captain Remillard. “I hope that these saturation patrols may serve as another important tool in fighting this serious problem.”
In support of “The Drive To Zero Highway Deaths,” the Patrol encourages motorists to protect themselves and their passengers by making sure everyone in the vehicle is properly restrained in a seat belt or child restraint. Watercraft operators should ensure that everyone in the vessel is wearing an approved life jacket. Click It 4 Life And Wear It!!
