EMPHASIS: Patrol To Issue Honorary Trooper Certificate
Captain Dale A. Schmidt, commanding officer, Missouri State Highway Patrol, Troop F, Jefferson City, MO, invites the media to attend a presentation on Thursday, January 21, 2010, honoring a Moniteau County resident for his actions at a motor vehicle crash. The ceremony will begin at 9:00 a.m. at Troop F Headquarters, 2920 N. Shamrock Road in Jefferson City.
Brett D. Adams, of California, MO, will be presented an “Honorary Trooper” certificate for his heroic actions at a head-on motor vehicle crash that happened on November 7, 2009. Mr. Adams was an eye witness to the crash which occurred on Missouri Rt. 87, approximately two miles north of Business 54 just outside of Eldon. As he was assisting the crash victims and making a phone call to emergency services, he observed a fire in one of the crashed vehicles. Mr. Adams was able to bend the top of the truck door and safely remove the driver from the burning vehicle.
Captain Schmidt stated, “Mr. Adams selfless actions very likely saved a life. He placed himself in danger and risked personal injury. We are pleased to honor him.”
