EMPHASIS: Results Of DWI Saturation In St. Louis County

Captain Ronald S. Johnson, commanding officer of Troop C, Weldon Spring, announces the results of a driving while intoxicated saturation conducted on June 12, 2010, in St. Louis County. Four Missouri State Highway Patrol troopers conducted the enforcement operation during the eight-hour project.

As a result of the enforcement program, 35 vehicles were stopped with a total of 28 arrests being made and 25 warnings issued. Of the 28 arrests, six citations were written for speed, three for seat belt violations, and 11 for other non-moving violations. In addition, three individuals were arrested for DWI, and five were arrested for other misdemeanor violations.

“Sobriety saturations continue to be effective in removing intoxicated drivers from our roadways,” stated Captain Johnson. “Troop C officers will continue to conduct various special enforcement operations for the remainder of 2010, with a goal of reducing traffic crashes and saving lives on Missouri roadways.”
